The GRID TRAIL FAQ’s
Do I get a race number and timing chip?
Yes. All participants receive an official race bib containing their race number and timing device. The bib must be worn on the front of your body and remain visible throughout the event to ensure accurate timing and identification.
Can I make changes to my Grid Trail registration?
Yes. If you need to amend your registration details or have any questions regarding your entry, please contact The Grid Team at
[email protected]. Additional administration fees may apply for certain changes.
Can I transfer my registration to another event, person or wave?
Yes, this can be done upon payment of the respective transfer fee. Transfer to another:
Grid event – €5.00
Person – €2.50
Wave – €2.50
To transfer entry onto another participant or event please follow link under your confirmation QR code and follow the respective instructions. The system will request a new payment from the participant. Once this payment is done, the original payment source will be refunded.

How long is the Grid Trail run?
The Grid Trail is a 6km trail run along a scenic route in Selmun. Total duration is dependent on the participant’s fitness level but normally ranges from 45 to 65 minutes when running and from 75 to 90 minutes when walking.
How hard is this trail run?
The Grid running events are tough but achievable at any level, you may take on any race and challenge yourself at your own pace.
Is it there a risk of injury?
Like any outdoor sport, trail running carries a degree of risk. The course follows natural trails and terrain, so we encourage participants to run responsibly, wear suitable footwear, and enjoy the experience at a pace that suits their fitness and ability.
ATHLETE AND PARTICIPANTS NEED TO PARTICIPATE FAIRLY WITHOUT OBSTRUCTING OR INJURING OTHERS.
What Grid Trail run options are there?
You can take part in The Grid Trail running event as an individual or with friends who would like some active fun!
Can I have a refund if I cancel my Grid Trail registration?
Refunds are not available. However, if you email us before the event and advise that you have an injury and providing a doctor’s medical certificate, we can move you onto another event of ours without any additional fees.
Do I get a race photo?
Photographers will be present on the day. While unlike many races we provide photos free of charge we cannot guarantee that every participant will be featured in any of the photos.
Is The Grid Trail an obstacle course race?
No. The Grid Trail is a trail running event and does not include obstacles. The challenge comes from the distance, terrain, and elevation of the course, making it suitable for runners looking to enjoy an authentic trail running experience.
